As a young boy, Paul Taylor began his Martial Arts training on December 2, 1972 in Massachusetts. Recalling his first lesson, "It was during a snow storm. I was stretching on the freezing cold linoleum floor and the surface was very hard on my feet.             

I remember saying to myself, this is what it will be like. If you want to learn badly enough, then get use to it”.

Decades later, on January 8, 2012, he would receive his promotion to 10th Degree Black Belt and be bestowed the title of Grandmaster by Professor Nicholas Cerio’s most senior Black Belt, Grandmaster Joseph Nesta.

As Grandmaster and head of the Z-Ultimate Board of Masters, he is responsible for advancing the development of the Kenpo System of Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios. He is the founder of the Kenpo Lineage Association (KLA) and the M.Y.S.E.L.F. self-defense method for women.

KLA was established in 2012 to honor the accomplishments of former masters of the Martial Arts. In his role as Grandmaster he is also responsible for maintaining

Z-Ultimate’s relationship with the Wudang Mountain Palaces and the Shaolin Temple 

in China.
